Kindness Lives On

About the Author

Corey DillonMy name is Corey Dillon. I am a husband, father, coach, author, triathlete, and investment professional. Above all else, I’m a grieving dad who is on a years-long quest to come to terms with losing my daughter to mental illness. This site is a way for me to remember her, and to focus on the kindness she left in her wake. Kindness she so willingly and freely bestowed on others, and yet had difficulty extending to herself.

In my professional life, I spent most of the last thirty years working in the investment management industry. I built, sold, consulted on, and was a fiduciary to all types of registered investment products. Today I’m mostly retired. I get to coach endurance athletes of all abilities through Braveheart Coaching Colorado, serve on several volunteer advisory boards, and remain engaged in the investment business through my work as an independent trustee.

I’m truly heartbroken that what began in 2017 as a blog to advocate for my oldest daughter (An Unlikely Advocate) has now turned into an ongoing memorial to her and the legacy of kindness she left behind. Rivena Dillon lost her battle with depression when she died by suicide on January 28, 2018. This site is dedicated to the kind, compassionate, and thoughtful soul we were lucky to know during her 25 years in this universe. As I commit to promoting kindness and acceptance toward others as part of Rivena’s legacy, I invite you to join me by sharing this page or sharing your own story.

Thank you for being here.

Why Are We Here?

What began as a blog to advocate for my oldest daughter has turned into a way to remember her and the legacy of kindness she left behind. Rivena Dillon died from depression when she took her own life on January 28, 2018. This site is dedicated to the kind, compassionate, and thoughtful soul we were lucky to know during her 25 years in this universe.
